There are many misconceptions about freon. This is mostly because some businesses have taught their technicians to lead consumers to believe things that aren’t true about the freon their Raleigh air conditioner uses. We want you to know there are TONS and tons of “old freon” available, and it will be around forever!
So to answer the question “Can you charge my system with freon?” yes, we can charge your air conditioning system with any kind of freon or refrigerant your air conditioning unit requires. It doesn’t matter if its the “old” R22 freon or the “new” 410A refrigerant.
Most importantly if your air conditioning system needs freon added, that means you have a leak. There is no reason you will ever need freon or refrigerant added to your air conditioning system system unless it has leaked out. Your Raleigh air conditioner will only leak out of one of a few places.
R22 freon and 410A refrigerant is expensive and should not be added to a leaking air conditioning system unless the customer is aware that this is not a long term solution but just a temporary fix.
